Ears and stuff

I went to the doctor last Monday (again) for my ears, which have been bothering me off and on for a while. I had to go to a different doctor because ours had no appointments available. The nurse practitioner took one look at my ears and wrote up a referral to the ENT. She then called to see how soon they could get me an appointment; I lucked out and they had one available that afternoon.

I went to the ENT, and he could find nothing medically wrong with my ears. He ran all the tests, etc. Including learning that my hearing is 100% and can't be tested any higher (which since I was born with only 80% hearing that tubes corrected -- that's pretty awesome). He finally concluded that my jaw may be the cause of my ear issues, and I am now on a soft-food diet for the next 6 weeks. I also have to take a dose (2 pills) of advil twice a day for the next 6 weeks for the pain. Hopefully, that will relieve the inflammation and I won't have to go back.

The only thing nice about this whole situation is that the diet is kind of fun to freak people out. Everyone is like "why are you on a diet?" and "that can't be good for you." Then I explain why, and they calm down. I am going to miss freaking people out like that. Other than that, it sucks. I am always hungry -- can't seem to get full. One night I ate 5 meals between 6 pm and 11 pm. Granted I don't ever eat big meals -- but complex carbs fill me up even faster and since that is the basis of this diet, I am eating even smaller meals. Plus I burn calories really fast anyway, so I am starving pretty much all the time. I am also pretty tired of the pain. I hope this treatment works though, because if I do all this for nothing, I am not going to be happy. (Nor is Wes -- as he keeps trying to come up with food I actually can eat -- and am not bored with eating.)
